Anne with an E is a Canadian television series adapted from Lucy Maud Montgomery’s series of books Anne of Green Gables. Anne with an E is a beautiful series full of gorgeous landscapes of Canada, incredibly beautiful camera shots and compelling story. Show follows the story of Anne Shirley played by Amybeth McNulty. Ann is an orphan with wild imagination and kind heart. Her life drastically changes after she was taken into Cuthbert family played by Geraldine James as Marilla Cuthbert and R. H. Thomson as Matthew Cuthbert. And as Cuthberts are trying to figure out what does it mean to have a child; Anne is trying to figure out meaning of a real family, friendship, and love while trying to overcome PTSD of constant bullying in orphanage.

The series is incredibly kind and inspirational, but at the same time it can be sorrowful and rough. Times of joy and happiness can follow times of hardships and pain but even in pain there is light that brings hope for a better future.

This series deals with a lot of social problems that experience not only kids but adults too. Racial discrimination, discrimination against women, bullying, homophobia. All of this is still happening, and this show brings attention to these horrible things and how important it is not to close our eyes on what’s happening but to fight with it and learn to accept people for who they are.
